Zheti Agash / Seven Trees
The Kazakh term “Zheti Agash” (жеті ағаш) literally translates to Seven Trees. It refers to the Nomadic style of living that was common for most Kazakhs up until 1930. They inhabited a harsh environment in the Central Asian steppes, which were scarce of water. An oasis with a group of trees indicated nearby water, along with fresh grass for livestock and a resting place for people to regain strength.
Furthermore, the oak tree symbolizes strength, courage, beauty and life. Deep roots give the tree resilience, nourishing its trunk and branches.Its green leaves are a visible sign that it is alive and growing. The oak tree provides fruit for others.
